Loan Talk, 16th April 2014, Freedom Finance snaps up L&G Head

Manchester-based firm, Freedom Finance, has announced that it has hired a brand new Head of Intermediary Distribution, as it continues its exponential growth within the secured loans industry.

Freedom Finance has announced that Darrell Walker will be the new Head of Intermediary Distribution at The Lending Wizard.

Darrell Walker, who formerly worked at Legal & General, has over 20 years of banking and financial services experience, as well as a dominated working background within the business development sector.

Darrell will be joining The Lending Wizard, the loan sourcing tool for brokers that was launched in 2007, where he will continue the development of the intermediary aspect of the company, as well as maintaining and building relationships with mortgage brokers.

Since launching, The Lending Wizard has partnered with a variety of leading lenders within the UK to produce a panel that represents the whole market. The loan and application platform is able to provide instant and accurate loan quotations after matching a lender’s criteria with personal information and credit data.

Darrell said: “The Lending Wizard has grown from strength-to-strength in the last few years, as increasing numbers of mortgage brokers recognise the value of a broader product offering for their clients.”

He added: “I’m looking forward to providing the dedicated service our intermediary partners deserve and to maintaining and continuing the growth that’s been seen in all areas of the business over the last few years.”

Natasha Lord, Head of Commercial at Freedom Finance, said: “Darrell joins us as an industry expert in enhancing and developing propositions which will undoubtedly strengthen our senior team at The Lending Wizard.

“His previous experience is a great asset and will allow us to enhance the current business relationships of the firm.

“Darrell’s appointment reflects our continued commitment to maintaining the quality of our service as we grow whilst also supporting the intermediary side of our business.”
